Summary of Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with curators and senior management to contribute to the development of the museum's overall exhibition strategy.
- Research and identify potential exhibitions that align with the museum's mission, audience interests, and strategic goals.
- Facilitate communication between curators and other museum departments to align exhibition plans with broader organizational objectives.
- Coordinate exhibition timelines, deadlines, and milestones, ensuring that all aspects of the exhibition process are executed efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct regular project meetings with cross-functional teams to address challenges, communicate updates, and ensure the smooth progression of exhibition projects.
- Develop and manage the exhibition budget, including cost estimation, financial forecasting, and expense tracking.
- Negotiate contracts with curators, artists, lenders, vendors, and contractors to ensure budgetary compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead the design and planning of exhibition spaces, collaborating with curators, designers, and other relevant staff to create visually compelling exhibits.
- Oversee the installation process, ensuring that exhibitions are set up according to artistic and safety standards, and within established timelines.
- Provide clear and detailed briefs to exhibition designers, offering guidance on thematic elements, spatial considerations, and the integration of artistic and educational components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any design-related issues that may arise during the exhibition planning and installation phases, maintaining a high standard of quality and aesthetic coherence.
- Bachelor’s degree in visual design, interior design, architecture or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Knowledge of the following languages is a plus: Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
- Experienced in interpreting curatorial vision into engaging exhibition experiences.
- Familiar with one or more key design tools, AutoCAD, adobe, 3ds Max.
- Knowledge of lighting design is preferred but not a must.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven experience of 5 years in exhibition management within a museum or cultural institution setting.
- Demonstrated success in coordinating and executing diverse and high-quality exhibitions.
