The role

A Senior Tax Analyst in Indonesia needs to have a deep understanding of Indonesian tax laws and regulations, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team and across various departments. You will be responsible for Indonesia tax matters as well as providing ad-hoc tax support for the group. You will report to the regional tax lead in Singapore. 

Main responsibilities

Your duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Tax compliance:
    • Assist in identifying tax obligation from payments, preparing and filing accurate and timely tax returns, including income tax, value-added tax (VAT), and other applicable taxes.
    • Ensure that related party transactions are conducted at arm's length and are appropriately documented in accordance with Indonesian regulations.
    • Monitor changes in tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements in Indonesia and ensure compliance with them.

  • Tax audits and disputes:
    • Assist in managing tax audits, inquiries, and correspondence with tax authorities.
    • Help in resolving tax disputes and responding to tax-related notices and assessments.
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with tax authorities, ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documents to support tax filings and audits.

  • Tax planning, support and strategy:
    • Collaborate with the group tax department to develop tax planning strategies to optimize the organization and the group's tax position while remaining compliant with the law.
    • Analyze financial data and conduct tax research to identify tax-saving opportunities and recommend tax-efficient structures or transactions.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage tax incentives and credits provided by the Indonesian government.
    • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, streamline workflows, and enhance efficiency
    • Provide tax-related guidance and support to internal and group stakeholders on transactions, contracts, and business initiatives. Collaborate with other departments such as operation, finance, accounting, and legal to ensure tax-related issues are considered in overall business decisions.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Tax or Finance
  • At least 3-5 years working experience in tax roles in either established tax firm or a sizable MNC tax department;
  • Good written and oral skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
