ThinkWell is an emerging health systems development organization that is in a major growth phase. Determined to transcend the status quo, ThinkWell was founded in 2011 to provide bold, creative, and practical solutions to helping low- and middle-income countries achieve universal health coverage. While our core area of work is health financing, we take a “whole-of-systems” approach, specializing in five practice areas that intersect with health financing: governance, human resources for health, private sector, public financial management, and research and evaluation.
We are seeking a consultant to support business development capture activities. Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, the consultant will provide support on an anticipated USAID health system strengthening proposal. Work under the consultancy will include both capture and live proposal phases. This role will report to the US-based Business Development Advisor. This person will be expected to contribute to information gathering, outreach, partner coordination, and research.
This position may be remote but must be based in the Jakarta area in Indonesia. It is expected to start immediately and last through June 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert opinion on the Indonesian health system, especially health financing, HIS, HRH, and integrated care issues, through discussion, email, and written pieces on specific topics.
- Contribute to developing ThinkWell’s approach and solutions to the key challenges to achieving the goals and objectives of USAID’s HSS Flagship project.
- Share relevant policy, research, report, and discussion documents and materials relevant to the Indonesia USAID HSS project.
- Help arrange meetings with potential partners or key stakeholders and represent ThinkWell.
- Estimated level of effort: 20 days over the proposal period (February 1 – June 30).
- Maintain confidentiality of work done and proposal development process.
- BA/BS and 6+ years experience or graduate degree and 4+ years experience.
- Relevant work experience in business development with a management consulting firm, international NGO, or professional services organization, or, relevant work experience in health system strengthening projects funded by international donors.
- Experience contributing to USAID proposals or projects. Experience in health system strengthening preferred.
- Strong writing, quantitative, negotiating and research skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English required.
- Ability to learn quickly, take direction and work independently.
- Ability to use creative, collaborative and consultative approaches to resolving issues.
Timeline: The Capture Support Consultant will continue through the end of the proposal, likely June 2024.
