Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect meat deliveries to ensure freshness and quality
- Prepare cuts of meat according to established standards
- Trim, bone, tie, and grind meats as needed
- Assist with the preparation of meat products such as sausages and cured meats
- Maintain a clean and organized butchery area
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service
- Previous experience as a Commis Butcher or similar role
- Knowledge of different cuts of meat and proper butchery techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent required, culinary school or formal culinary training preferred
