Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all operations follow strict safety protocols in accordance with the plant’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines and local regulations.
- Identify hazards and risks in the tank farm and port areas, implementing control measures to minimize them.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and government regulations related to CPO storage and port activities.
- Conduct regular safety briefings (Toolbox Meetings) for all staff and external personnel (such as ship crew) to ensure compliance with safety policies.
Tank Farm Operations:
- Oversee the allocation and utilization of tanks for different product types, ensuring efficient use of storage capacity.
- Monitor the loading and unloading processes, ensuring no oil spills or leaks occur and that all procedures adhere to environmental and safety standards.
- Implement process safety management (PSM) practices to maintain safe operation of tanks and associated equipment.
- Ensure that all tanks are maintained to prevent contamination and optimize their service life.
Port Operations:
- Supervise the docking (berthing) and sailing of ships and barges, ensuring safe and efficient turnaround times.
- Coordinate with the shipping department, external captains, and surveyors to ensure smooth logistics and adherence to schedules.
- Ensure that all ships comply with the port's safety regulations, including environmental protection measures like the proper use of oil booms.
- Monitor weather and sea conditions to ensure safe docking and sailing operations.
Process Optimization:
- Implement strategies to optimize the storage and handling of products, reducing downtime, and minimizing product changeover times.
- Use process mapping to identify inefficiencies in tank utilization, loading, and unloading procedures, implementing improvements to streamline operations.
- Coordinate with the production and logistics teams to ensure tank availability aligns with production demands and export schedules.
Cost Savings and Improvements:
- Develop cost-saving initiatives such as reducing reprocessing needs and minimizing idle times for tanks and port operations.
- Optimize resource allocation (manpower, equipment, and tanks) to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Continuously seek improvement opportunities in warehouse and port operations to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Environmental Responsibility:
- Ensure no oil spills or leaks occur during loading and unloading processes by monitoring and maintaining high standards of environmental protection.
- Oversee the proper disposal of waste materials and cleaning of tanks to prevent environmental contamination.
- Ensure that all environmental control measures (such as oil booms) are in place and functioning correctly.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead the tank farm and port operations teams, ensuring that all personnel are well-trained and aware of their roles in maintaining safety and compliance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve individual and team efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to identify areas for operational enhancements.
