Financial Oversight:
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including account reconciliation, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Ensure accurate posting of financial transactions in journals and verify the correctness of financial statements
- Manage the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards (IFRS, GAAP). including gross margin analysis, SKU profitability, and distribution cost analysis
Working Capital Management:
- Oversee cash flow, receivables, and payables, especially in managing inventory and minimize days sales outstanding (DSO)
Data Management:
- Gather and analyze data from various departments to support financial decision-making
- Serve as a gatekeeper for financial processes, ensuring adherence to established protocols while remaining adaptable to changes
Tax Knowledge:
- Possess a solid understanding of tax regulations WHT 21, 23, 4(2), 25, VAT and implications related to accounting practices
- Assist in tax-related matters, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax efficiency
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to FMCG or distribution, including audits, tax regulations, and internal controls
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, and operations, and communicate financial insights to senior leadership
System & Process Improvement:
- Be a proactive problem-solver, able to navigate challenges with flexibility and creativity
- Implement and enhance financial systems and processes to increase operational efficiency, streamline distribution costs, and improve financial accuracy
