The Project Field Officer works to ensure the (quality of the) service delivery to the client or user community. Executes the local delivery of the project conform advice given by the advisor(s)/ project manager and conform SNV procedures and guidelines, making sure timelines and project standards are met. Anticipates on delivery challenges to ensure service and delivery continuity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Service & process delivery

• Provide capacity building to the 1,000 targeted smallholders, and 50 farmer group resilient.
• Provide farmers and community members with hands-on technical support through field visits and demonstrations.
• Guide the local trainers for conducting the mapping on smallholder plantation
• Guide community businesses and farmer groups in creating sustainable business models, business planning, financial management, and resource mobilization efforts.
• Enhance market skills for community organization, including developing market access, institutional empowerment, connect businesses with farmers to support Agroforestry implementation
• Collaborate with team members to implement project plans effectively in the field.

1. Internal and external communication.

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including government, companies, local communities, and project partners (local NGO).
• Act as a liaison between the project team and stakeholders, addressing concerns and ensuring smooth communication.
• Facilitate multi-stakeholder meetings and maintain productive partnerships
• Represent SNV and actively participate in the dialogue, workshop, and meetings of the Cocoa commodity initiative at the provincial or district level.

1. Project data handling.

• Support PME activities in collecting, analyzing, and assuring data quality.
• Contribute to the report development by providing relevant data and information.

• Support the Project Coordinator in monitoring the quality-of-service delivery and effectiveness of applied methodology.

• Deliver capacity-building programs to 1,500 targeted smallholders and 90 local champions, equipping them to adopt agroforestry practices for environmental sustainability while enhancing their income resilience.
• Provide hands-on technical support to farmers and community members through field visits and demonstrations.
• Offer continuous advisory services to farmers on farm management, crop diversification, and post-harvest handling
• Guide community businesses and farmer groups in creating sustainable business models, business planning, financial management, and resource mobilization efforts.
• Enhance market skills for community organization, including developing market access, institutional empowerment, connect businesses with farmers to support on Agroforestry implementation for cocoa commodity
• Collaborate with team members to implement project plans effectively in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Service and process delivery

• Delivers Gender and Women Economic Empowerment annual work plan according to the agreed timeline and budget plan
• In coordination and consultation with the Project Manager and GESI Advisor, guides and trains Village Facilitators to deliver activities at the village level
• Ensures Village Facilitators activities’ quality and consistency with SNV’s values and policies
• Identifies opportunities, challenges, and bottlenecks in work plan implementation, and communicates to the Project Manager and GESI Advisor.

Internal and external communication

• Participates actively in internal communication initiatives, especially during regular BIPOSC team meeting or SNV Indonesia’s learning sessions, and on various topics including project progress updates, stories of changes, lessons learned and best practices from the component/initiative
• Contributes to external communication initiatives, including development and dissemination of relevant communication materials to key clients e.g., programme’s brief/factsheet
• Upon coordination with the Project Manager and GESI Advisor, engages relevant project stakeholders at district, sub-district, and village levels to ensure project’s conformity with local contexts, values, and norms

Project data handling

• Ensures programmes data handling according to SNV’s policy and procedure e.g., OneDrive utilisation
• In coordination with MEL Officer/Team, regularly monitors, collects data, and documents Village Facilitators’ progress and achievement, and stores in accessible platform e.g., monitoring dashboard, TeamSite
• Supports MEL Officer/Team to conduct relevant MEL events e.g., baseline, mid-term, endline, evaluation and ensures documentation and storage of final products in accessible platform e.g., TeamSite

Process improvement

• Identifies and proposes technical process improvements to the Project Manager, GESI Advisor, and team members, based on experience and learnings from the field
• Ensures lessons learned are applied in daily practice
• Ensures, monitors progress and reviews quality of own expertise and ensures client support and satisfaction during projects

The Project Coordinator is responsible for leadership and coordination of program planning and management; coordination of programmatic themes; political analysis, including but not limited to:

• Execute overall project management
• Guide the project set-up,
• Manage donor and government relations
• Overall management of all human resources, physical and financial resources related to the project.
• Monitor the performance of the project management team to ensure all milestones set in the annual work plan are achieved, develop mitigation plans to reduce risks, and take corrective actions to remedy any deviation from the work plans
• Account and report to SNV and the donor on project performance
• Guide knowledge development, documentation, communication, and branding in close collaboration with the donor
• Identify follow-up funding and partnership possibilities, and business development.
• Develop a value chain and commercialize the production of palm oil and alternative crops for income generating activities
• Closely supervise the MEL to implement baseline study, midterm review, final evaluation, and regular monitoring

• Provide any intervention relevant to project goals, such as oil palm BMP reg ag training & coaching, RSPO certification, develop composting unit, facilitate replanting program, farmer organizations empowerment, etc. 
• Communicates intensively and regularly with internal and external stakeholders in the project, including governments, private sectors and other project partners.
• Represent SNV and actively involved in any professional platform such as Rencana Aksi Daerah Kelapa Sawit Berkelanjutan.
• Support MNE activities in data collection and assuring data quality.
• Contribute to the report development by providing relevant data and information.
• Support Project Manager in monitoring the quality-of-service delivery and effectiveness of applied methodology

The Project Assistant provide support in the implementation of the project by following guided procedures and processes, according to specific rules and donor compliance. The Project Assistant ensures service needs are reviewed and service delivery is guided. The Project Assistant can assist in the Finance and Administration of a project or also on the technical side of the project implementation.

Key Activities

• Support Administrative and Financial work within the project, ensuring Project Management Administrative and Financial requirements are in line with SNV’s financial and administrative guidelines (including supporting in the procurement of goods and services, travel arrangements, advance and payment requests, and time writing for consultants)
• Provide logistical & general support to project delivery and documentation (including preparing meetings agendas, meeting minutes, support to the recruitment of consultants, project document folders, and financial information).
• Assist with activities supporting of teamwork, meetings preparation and coordination with field partner.
• Keep an inventory list of equipment, project assets, the relevant contracts, and leases, organize equipment and stationary procurements for training, coordinate maintenance and replacement when required, in consultation with and with approval of the supervisor and confirm the given authorization and (procurement) procedures.
• File all the project document, letters, contract, PR, approvals, in line with the procurement policy.
