Senior Designer

We are looking for a hands-on, digital native with a breadth of design capabilities and a finger on the pulse of pop culture to join our growing Creative team. You’ll be responsible for ideating and implementing brand, editorial, and marketing programs, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience working closely with the brand, creative and marketing teams. This role will have the emphasis on the craft of Graphic Design to consistently create powerful and memorable visual narratives.

Role: 

• Be the brand and design expert; shape and maintain brand ethos at every touchpoint with a relentless eye for craft.
• Participate in full-scale integrated campaigns from concept to completion. This will include creating and producing work involving photography, illustration, animation, digital, and experiential.
• Designing Campaign Playbook: identifying look & feel, setting the tone and design principles, and developing a visual identity system for campaigns that can be adopted in different APAC markets. 
• Hands-on design development in collaboration with Creative Leads, Content Strategists, and other designers.
• Ensure quality and timely creative production and communication with creative teammates, stakeholders, and external clients.
• Sell in design thinking and principles by inspiring a senior group and motivating the audience internally and externally.
• Ensure that deliverables adhere to the strategic brief, the brand’s vision and intention. 
• Operate as both an individual contributor and a cross-functional team player.
• Champion the user (both content creators and viewers/fans) in all your design rationales. Ensuring that your creative decisions are based on user behaviour and insights.

You:

• 5-8+ years of relevant experience in creative studios (in-house or agency) with a focus on branding or graphic design.
• Award-worthy portfolio with world-class design sensibilities and deep interest in various pop cultures and diverse communities.
• Experience thriving in a fast-paced workplace with the ability to visualise a range of solutions iteratively.
• Ability to understand business and brand priorities and translate them to hands-on design solutions.
• Led projects and experienced in working on regional campaigns
• Familiarity with production process and terminology; comprehension of graphic design, digital marketing, and advertising.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills and - ideally - fluent in another Asian language to cover projects spanning across JAPAC.

UX Writer

6 months fixed term contract

Maker Lab is looking for a dynamic individual to join an exciting project we’ve embarked on with our technology client. Our client's brand is complex and innovative and paving the way for creative avenues to revolutionise the tech industry in unconventional ways. 

As a UX Writer for the APAC market, you will partner across a wide range of departments alongside your team of designers and researchers to create and shape product experiences through meaningful text. You’re also a content strategist, defining product vision and narratives across multiple platforms and touch points.

You work well with people and are a problem solver. You are open to multiple perspectives and love coming up with fresh and innovative ideas based on the latest trends.

Role:

• Partner with the rest of the team on delivering engaging content and communications for the users - UX Designers & product managers, UX Researchers, Project Managers, Content Strategists, engineers, etc.
• Collaborate and integrate with clients’ marketing, branding, creative and other teams.
• Drive and inspire dynamic ideas that connect with all types of users through clear and concise copy content across multiple touch points, including page copy, labels, navigation, headings, notifications, etc.
• Writing engaging UI copy in English and local languages that effectively communicate with local audiences, with a good understanding of local market nuances.
• Crafting content solutions to address complex legal, compliance, and engineering challenges; documenting writing and style guidelines, word lists, and strategic principles.
• Initiate & execute UX writing projects and identify better approaches to drive efficiency, providing insights and feedback to the team.
• Ideate and execute ideas from beginning to end in a fast-paced working environment.
  

You: 

• At least 6+ years of UX writing experience in an agency, financial services firm, and hyper-growth technology companies
• Experience leading large, complex content strategies for user experiences, from notifications to structuring content in the UI.
• Your commitment will be to delivering work of the highest quality while working with team members to constantly develop new ideas and ensure consistency by building frameworks and guidelines. 

• A sharp-eyed, detail-oriented oriented and good design ambassador. 
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills and ideally fluent in another asian language to support projects spanning APAC.
