Commis II - Bakery serves a pivotal role in maintaining the exceptional culinary standards we are renowned for. As a Commis II in the Bakery department, you will play a crucial part in crafting exquisite baked goods and pastries that epitomize both artistry and taste. Your responsibilities will encompass preparing, baking, and presenting an array of delectable creations while adhering to the highest quality and hygiene standards.

A Commis II - Pastry is entrusted with mastering the fundamental skills and techniques required for pastry preparation, including the creation of delectable desserts, pastries, and baked goods. Working closely under the guidance of experienced pastry chefs, the Commis II - Pastry contributes to the meticulous execution of pastry creations, ensuring they align with the hotel's exacting standards of taste, quality, and presentation. This role represents an invaluable opportunity for culinary enthusiasts to embark on their culinary journey and cultivate their skills within a world-class pastry kitchen, ultimately contributing to the hotel's distinguished reputation for culinary excellence on the international stage. 

• Maintains all work areas, butchery equipment and utensils to the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene required by the hotel
• Is familiar with the operational procedures of all equipment in the butchery and operates them in the correct manner to ensure the maximum efficiency and personal safety.
• To assist in the implementation of the various food safety and hygiene standards including HACCP and other Municipality regulations.
• Participates in regular meetings and briefings as may be scheduled.
• Understands and abides by all safety rules, emergency procedures and fire prevention regulations.
• Participates in any scheduled training and development program that may improve personal or departmental standards.
• Responds to any changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry, company or hotel.
• To be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different outlets of the Kitchen Department.

Operation

• Stock up the assigned kitchen with raw materials and ingredients on a daily basis
• Be familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observe safety precautions when handling them
• Master all basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients and preparing daily mis-en-place for the assigned station
• Prepare food items as per standard recipe cards whilst maintaining portion control and minimizing wastage
• Apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
• Clean and maintain all equipment within the food production area
• Promptly report any hazards, unsafe working conditions or equipment which requires repair or maintenance to immediate supervisor.

Other Responsibilities

• Be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures
• Apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
• Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the assigned by the Management

As a Commis II, you are responsible for the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities where by his/her role will include key responsibilities such as support towards Demi Dhef de Partie or Chef de Partie in the daily operations and work.
