The Analyst works as a key member of the Strategic Purchasing for Primary Health Care (SP4PHC) project, which is supported by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that provides technical assistance to countries to improve how funds are allocated to healthcare providers to achieve the goal of universal health coverage.

In Indonesia, SP4PHC is working with Ministry of Health (MOH) since the late 2022 on supporting the MOH’s Health Transformation agenda, and specifically focusing on reforms around improving PHC, health financing, and digital health across Indonesia. SP4PHC Indonesia is implementing three strategies, which aim to improve how JKN purchases PHC services, optimize flow of funds via districts to PHC providers, and foster integration of telemedicine into purchasing arrangements for PHC services.

Summary

The Regional Lead, Financial Institution Services works within a unique partnership between Water.org and WaterEquity, the first-ever asset management company dedicated to mobilizing private sector investments to accelerate universal access to water and sanitation in emerging markets. One of WaterEquity’s primary investment strategies is investing in Financial Institutions to expand water and sanitation lending to underserved households and businesses.  

Water.org and WaterEquity have established an asset origination alliance (AOA) to align the market building activities of Water.org and the investment activities of WaterEquity.  

This position is primarily responsible for:

• Delivering consulting services to support emerging markets Financial Institutions with water and sanitation lending;  
• Strengthening and expanding WaterEquity’s investment opportunities with microfinance institutions, banks, and other non-banking financial institutions; and,  
• Supporting Water.org’s long-term capacity to develop investment opportunities in the region.

Required Qualifications & Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree; industry experience and certification equivalency considered. 
• Ten or more years of progressive responsibility within international development, finance/banking, and/or professional services.  Five or more years working with financial institutions, including experience working in emerging markets.
• Proven track record leading with one or more of the following: loan product development and risk management, investment in financial institutions, and/or technical assistance services. 
• Proficient (written and verbal) in English.

About the Role

• Accountable developing end to end NGL program, start from identifying potential life planner and build ecosystem such as communities, development program, activities and recognition platform as new leaders funnel  
• Develop compelling new leader value proposition, addressing current difficulties of low promotion ratio due to comfortable and focus on personal selling, do not see the benefit of becoming a leader and view it more as burden with fewer benefits, lack of appreciation as leader, etc.
• Communication and updates on next generation leaders strategy and policies to internal key partners
• Continuous engagement with potential life planners and new leaders and internal key partners to maintain alignment
• Assess and review ground response and make timely interventions to ensure efficiency of initiatives

New Energy Nexus is an international organization that supports clean energy start-ups through funding, accelerator programs, and networks. We started our program in California and now have operations in New York, China, India, Southeast Asia, and East Africa.

In Indonesia, New Energy Nexus conducts its activities through PT. New Energy Nexus Indonesia to support the next generation of clean energy and climate solutions innovators, startups, and entrepreneurs in Indonesia. The objective of New Energy Nexus Indonesia is to position itself as a premier organization and a thought leader dedicated to fostering and investing in clean energy and climate solutions startups across Indonesia. Our primary objective is to have a significant impact on the nation's transition towards a thriving net zero economy.

New Energy Nexus Indonesia consists of three main activities:

1. Startup Incubation and Acceleration: support aspiring innovators, startups, and entrepreneurs throughout Indonesia in cultivating their innovative clean energy and climate business concepts and bringing them to market
2. Stakeholder outreach, engagement, and advocacy: facilitate interactions and collaborations between entrepreneurs, partners, and diverse stakeholder groups to effectively communicate and highlight the significant advantages of clean energy and climate entrepreneurship
3. Fund: provide grants, pre-seed, and seed funding to startups in our programs.

The Candidate:

We are looking for someone passionate about supporting potential policymakers toward the clean energy transition, has project management experience, and is a driven individual.

Key roles and responsibilities

• Support the Manager of Policy Analyst in carrying out activities related to policy analysis
• Conduct policy research/analysis, focusing on green entrepreneurship in the energy sector
• Writing research reports, white papers, and communication materials to disseminate research findings
• Conduct interviews, audience, and forums with relevant stakeholder
• Support stakeholder engagement activities and contribute to campaign activities aimed at promoting green entrepreneurship in Indonesia
• Monitor green entrepreneurship issues in Indonesia
• Collect and set up the database

• Passionate about energy policy, startups, cleantech, and climate issues.
• Fresh graduate from STEM, public policy, or law are preferred.
• Demonstrating a solid understanding of both energy transition issues and clean energy entrepreneurship.
• Experience with organizing professional events and implementing marketing, communication, and social media activities.
• Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with government officials, business leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency in key energy-related policies such as RUEN/RUED, RPJMN/RPJMD, and RAN/RAD GRK for the Energy Sector, etc. is preferred.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, including the ability to write reports/ technical/ briefing/ policy papers is preferred.
• Professional English and Bahasa both written and oral.
• Good interpersonal and social skills.
• Independent and adept at working in a multicultural environment.
