The Opportunity
BlueScope Distribution Indonesia is looking for a Logistics Officer to join the team based in Jakarta. BlueScope Distribution is a single-source provider of product, processing and service solutions in steel and aluminium product. The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification. BlueScope Distribution supports its customers by helping them find the freedom to do what they do best.
In this brand new role, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance to import laws and regulations for BlueScope Distribution Indonesia. Responsible for handling the administration for the importation of our goods and to ensure our products are getting to our customers in a safe and timely manner.
Based in our Jakarta office, you will be joining a friendly and experienced team. This role will require you to spend time at the ports when expecting ships are due to arrive.
What Will You Do?
This role will see you:
- prepare, validate and submit import documentation to ensure acceptance of product and payment from customers
- keep accurate records of receivables, imports and exports for internal and external audits and ensuring records are meeting regulation compliance
- manage schedules of ocean shipping and domestic trucking to meet customer expectations for arrival dates
- negotiate freight rates to meet customer requirements and cost management
More About You
You will have experience within a similar environment working within Imports/Exports. You will have:
- the ability to undertake detailed end to end supply chain transactions within the business
- high levels of attention to detail and organisational skills
- an understanding of Import documentation and exposure to customs auditing
- degree qualifications in a relevant field
